Unlocking the Grinder

The Grinder is located in the main metropolis, Concordia, in Janey Springs' workshop. When you first attain Concordia, she isn't at that place yet. Yous have to keep the main story until you come dorsum to Concordia and Janey is there.

She will take a side-quest called, "Grinders" that is level eleven on your kickoff play through. Afterward completing this mission, you volition unlock the power to sue the Grinder. After doing this, if you start Truthful Vault Hunter Mode, you won't demand to exercise the quest again to use information technology.

How to use the Grinder

Using the Grinder is simple, yous put in 3 items, press the grind button, then get out a new item. The items, most of the time, have to be the same type and rarity to grind. This means that you have to use either all weapons, class mods, grenade mods, Oz kits, or shields. Yous can't mix any of those. The rarity is the color of the item. For instance if you use a bluish item, all must be blueish.

The exception is grinding legendary items. You can grind 2 legendary items and 1 purple to become a new legendary. There is a listing later on in this guide that shows recipes. Too, bank check out my How to Get Legendaries guide for more details.

When using the Grinder, you can either go an particular of the same quality, or one level higher. This means that if you lot grind 3 blue items, you can either go some other blue item, or a regal item.

Moonstone Grind

Yous can also cull to utilize moonstones when using the grinder. This gives yous the highest possible quality item out of the 3 items you put in the Grinder. So using this with three blue items will always give yous a purple item.

You also become a chance to accept an actress outcome on your item chosen Luneshine. Here is a list of possible Luneshine effects:

  • Higher Maximum Shields
  • Reduced O2 consumption rate
  • Extra Grenade damage
  • Extra Feel from killing enemies
  • Restores shields from killing enemies
  • College Critical hit impairment
  • Restores O2 from dissentious enemies
  • Chance to ignore enemy shields

Grinder Recipes

If you put in 3 guns at random, there is no telling what you'll get, but if you follow the recipes below, y'all can get the desired detail every fourth dimension. All of these recipes take to have the same rarity type, except when grinding legendaries.

  • SMG - Pistol, Assail Burglarize, and Shield.
  • Rocket Launcher - Any 2 weapons and a grenade mod.
  • Attack Rifle - SMG, Sniper Rifle, and Shield.

  • Shotgun - SMG, Pistol, and Shield.

Rarity Types

Annotation: This is for using moonstones. If you apply normal grind you can still become these event, merely there is a chance y'all'll get a lower rarity.

  • Greenish (Random) - 3 different white weapons.
  • Green (Specific) - ii white weapons of the same blazon and 1 weapon of any type.

Grinder Tips

Here are a few tips to recall when using the Grinder:

  • ALWAYS use moonstone grind when grinding Legendaries. You lot don't want to finish up with a purple particular and waste material two legendaries.

  • Use your highest level items. The level of the item produced is an boilerplate of the iii items put into the Grinder.
  • Choice up several items. You never know what you might want to grind after.
  • Utilise moonstones when you can. If you lot tin can afford to, use moonstones always. The run a risk to go Luneshine makes the weapons even better.
